Job Summary:
We are looking for a reliable and friendly Day Porter to join our custodial team. This position helps keep the school clean, safe, and welcoming for students, staff, and visitors during the day. The Day Porter provides ongoing cleaning and support while school is in session.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain cleanliness in hallways, classrooms, restrooms, offices, and common areas throughout the school day.
  • Restock restroom and classroom supplies (soap, paper towels, toilet paper, tissues, etc.) as needed.
  • Wipe down and sanitize high-touch surfaces such as desks, door handles, railings, and counters.
  • Respond quickly to spills, messes, or accidents to keep areas safe for students and staff.
  • Empty trash and recycling bins in classrooms and common areas during the day.
  • Keep entryways and front office areas clean and presentable for students, parents, and visitors.
  • Provide light support for school events, such as setting up or breaking down chairs and tables.
  • Report any maintenance or safety concerns (broken fixtures, leaks, etc.) to the supervisor right away.
  • Ensure cleaning supplies and equipment are used and stored safely.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Friendly and Professional: Comfortable working around students, teachers, and school staff.
  • Attention to Detail: Notices when areas need cleaning or restocking without being asked.
  • Dependable & Punctual: Shows up on time and ready to work every day.
  • Physical Stamina: Able to walk, bend, and lift up to 25–50 lbs as needed throughout the shift.
  • Good Communication Skills: Understands and follows instructions, and can report issues clearly.
  • Team Player: Works well with other custodial staff and supports the school community.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident authorized to work in the United States.

Compensation: $13.75 - $15.00 per hour
